This course is open to all UD employees including faculty, staff and misc-wage employees at no cost to you. NOTE: REGISTRATION CLOSES TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO EVENT to give time to give attendees access and time to complete PRE-WORK.

What is Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)?

Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. For more information, see: mentalhealthfirstaid.org.

If it's virtual, does that mean it's self-paced? Partially.

- There will be a section of the course done on your own that will be due before the Zoom class. The required pre-work can be done in stages and the online interface allows for saving your work and coming back to it.

- There will also be a post-test & evaluation to be done on your own after the Zoom class.

The Zoom class portion is mandatory and necessary as it will be where you receive the bulk of the information of this course. You cannot complete a course and receive certification without attending the Zoom course. Pre-work will be available 2 weeks prior to class.
